Athy's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 16th match minute, Athy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baiscend McTom to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Ron Hutton fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Brenden Barrett, passed just outside the right post. Beary Myler in the 20thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Brenden Barrett, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Brenden Barrett was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Beary Myler showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 22 minute of play. In the 27th minute, Ron Hutton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brenden Barrett was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Beary Myler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Brenden Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beary Myler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 37 minutes of play, Athy's Balor Mullan made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Declan Jameson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 41st minute, Ron Hutton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brenden Barrett didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gordon Gough went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Athy's Brenden Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Athy from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Balor Mullan made a kick off. After some careless play in the Athy defense, Nandi Dallku kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brenden Barrett. The Athy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brenden Barrett should have stopped the shot. ☘️ glasgow rangers☘️'s Alessio Coccolone got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute Beary Myler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenden Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Suibhne John fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Athy's protests and gave Suibhne John a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ☘️ glasgow rangers☘️ booed when Athy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Suibhne John didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beary Myler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the ☘️ glasgow rangers☘️ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
