Brenna Sheridan was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Boyne Harkin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Boyne Harkin took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brenna Sheridan. Brenna Sheridan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Brant Robinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Boyne Harkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Killoran getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Ainnle McPaul hit a great ball. Boyne Harkin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Brenna Sheridan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Donahue Caffeys short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Brenna Sheridan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ultan Cooney's late challenge caught a Killoran's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ultan Cooney helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Killoran booed when Ballytrasna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ultan Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rowley McJames got free with Brenna Sheridan in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the game, one of Killoran:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 42nd minute, Brant Robinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Blair Martyn came free in the 44th minute and tried to tip the ball over Brendan Caffrey, but to the joy of Killoran's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. 47 minutes into the match, Killoran's goal looked a bit too open when Shey McPhilip came free, but Brendan Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Peadar McAlphie was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Ballytrasna's Donell Prunty got a free kick in the 58th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donahue Caffey in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brenna Sheridan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute, Ainnle McPaul got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Killoran fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Killoran's Donahue Caffey looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gil Caffey in the 73rd minute of play forced Killoran's goalkeeper Brendan Caffrey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donahue Caffey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Brenna Sheridan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Killoran's goal looked a bit too open when Shey McPhilip came free, but Brendan Caffrey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brendan Caffrey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gil Caffey in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th minute Gil Caffey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan Caffrey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brendan Caffrey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gil Caffey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th match minute, Killoran was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brant Robinson to maneuver through the defense. Blanaid Hutton made in the 92nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ballytrasna's Pawd Hughes. Gil Caffey hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Killoran fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ballytrasna had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
