Ter Stegen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timmons McWillie in the 19th minute of the match. When Gilbert Jameson came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the 1948 MKS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Jameson couldn't finish the play. Ter Stegen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timmons McWillie in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to FC Piemonte getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Edward Mulvihill hit a great ball. Timmons McWillies short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Ter Stegen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 37 minutes of play, 1948 MKS's Donleavy Barrett made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Harold McGlenn was left in no man's land by his defense there! The FC Piemonte players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. 1948 MKS were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timmons McWillie was the one to do the kick off. Tiomoid Doherty struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Harold McGlenn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1948 MKS. Fondas Giannakakis hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as 1948 MKS's Robert McCready slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Harold McGlenn. That made the score 0-2 after 75 minutes of play. 88 minutes into the match, Donleavy Barrett dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Harold McGlenn, 0-3. Ter Stegen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timmons McWillie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
