Spectators: 6730 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ash Hudson made the kick off which started today's match. Ash Hudson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The long shot by Peter Godsall in the 11th minute really tested Phillip Plummer's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Charlie Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romeo Gamble showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rory Southgate in the 14th minute of the match. Rory Southgate struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Romeo Gamble didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ponteland FC. In the 17th minute, Ash Hudson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ash Hudson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Romeo Gamble having to make a save. The supporters of Newton on Ouse booed when Ponteland FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robin Riley didn't get a good kick on the ball. 35 minutes into the game, one of Newton on Ouse:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The audience was convinced that Rory Southgate's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romeo Gamble was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After 43 played minutes Newton on Ouse got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Titmuss. Ash Hudson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Ponteland FC's Don Metcalf got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Ponteland FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Phillip Plummer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Holt in the 53rd minute of play. If Rory Southgate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Newton on Ouse's goalkeeper Romeo Gamble had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory Southgate. Rory Southgate's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Romeo Gamble skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 74th minute, Rory Southgate got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Rodd Gamble had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ash Hudson in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Romeo Gamble saved Newton on Ouse from getting behind. In the 83rd minute, Ash Hudson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Romeo Gamble. The goal made the score 0-3. Charlie Holt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Phillip Plummer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Newton on Ouse's Ralf Titmuss got a free kick in the 89th minute. Rory Southgate sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rory Southgate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd minute, Leigh Cusack hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Ash Hudson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeo Gamble saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ponteland FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
