Tristram Barat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicholas Braysons short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Francis Whieldon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tristram Barat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rio Shephard sped through Penge's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Reg Whitman. Nicholas Brayson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Francis Whieldon made a huge save. Basil Goodwick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Reg Whitman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Beccles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tyrone Fitzsymon to maneuver through the defense. Reg Whitman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basil Goodwick in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Nicholas Brayson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Basil Goodwick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reg Whitman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basil Goodwick in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Basil Goodwick made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 56 minutes, Tristram Barat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tristram Barat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reg Whitman made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Rio Shephard sent off a good shot on target. Penge's defense didn't have a chance, in the 64th minute, when Basil Goodwick scored to the left of an out of position Reg Whitman, making the score, 0-2. Francis Whieldon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicholas Brayson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robbie Boothroyd charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbie Boothroyd the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Beccles's Robbie Boothroyd got a free kick in the 69th minute. Marty Snowden was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nicholas Brayson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rio Shephard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reg Whitman having to interfere. Reg Whitman was a little too slow when Basil Goodwick got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-3. 83 minutes into the match, Penge's goal looked a bit too open when Basil Goodwick came free, but Reg Whitman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reg Whitman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basil Goodwick in the 85th minute of the match. If Nicholas Brayson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Beccles's goalkeeper Francis Whieldon, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, Tristram Barat cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Francis Whieldon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Beccles's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
