With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jo Woodier in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russell Horseman saved Caistor from getting behind. 22 minutes into the match, Caistor's goal looked a bit too open when Jo Woodier came free, but Russell Horseman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leigh Falkingham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russell Horseman having to interfere. With splendid footwork Leigh Falkingham arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-1 by the left pole in the game's 25th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timothy Scargill during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Penrith City were awarded a corner in the 33th minute after Caistor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Garth Bambrook took the corner. Huey Holland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry McMahon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walter Lydiate charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walter Lydiate the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Walter Lydiate hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Penrith City's Huey Holland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barry McMahon in the 43rd minute of play. In the 48th minute, Leigh Falkingham left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Penrith City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jo Woodier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Russell Horseman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 63 minutes into the game, Jo Woodier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Russell Horseman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 66 minutes into the game, one of Caistor:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Garth Bambrook shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Huey Holland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Barry McMahon in the 71st minute of the match. Huey Holland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Barry McMahon's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Richie Hutchinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caistor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richie Hutchinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Penrith City fans' excitement grew in the 84th match minute when Penrith City's Jo Woodier looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Penrith City's Chris Forrest got a free kick in the 87th minute. With his leg Huey Holland managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Caistor's Richie Hutchinson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Penrith City's Huey Holland got control of the ball when Richie Hutchinson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Richie Hutchinsons short, quick shot in the 97thth minute got Huey Holland to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 100 minutes into the match, Penrith City's Leigh Falkingham sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Russell Horseman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Penrith City fans cheered their team off the field, for while Caistor had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
