Spectators: 5500 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Albert Foley kicked off to start the match. After 6 played minutes Ashbourne FC got a freekick which was hit by Ash Fitzsymon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donald Philpott got free with Les Boyce in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ashbourne FC's Les Boyce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Ashbourne FC from getting a goal against them. CJ Coe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Foley in the 10th minute of play. Theo Brodie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Les Boyce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ron Knightley kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Barrie Littlechild recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 22 in the game by Barrie Littlechild from a close distance when the talented Les Boyce managed to make a qualified save. Ashbourne FC's players were relieved. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nigel Bland during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Ashbourne FC's Nigel Bland got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Loyd Kyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ollie Goodfellow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute of the match, Ollie Goodfellow got a very nice opportunity to score, but Les Boyce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Les Boyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Loyd Kyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ollie Goodfellow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barrie Littlechild could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Les Boyce made a huge save. In the 42nd minute Albert Foley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but CJ Coe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ashbourne FC's Les Boyce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ashbourne FC from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the match, Ashbourne FC's goalkeeper Les Boyce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ollie Goodfellow. In the 48th minute, Nigel Bland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Loyd Kyle made a kick off. In the 54th minute Loyd Kyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les Boyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Barrie Littlechild had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ollie Goodfellow in the 61st minute of play forced Ashbourne FC's goalkeeper Les Boyce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 63rd minute Loyd Kyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Les Boyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Les Boyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Brodie, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute, Barrie Littlechild made a precise shot to the right of Les Boyce. Ashbourne FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. HighFlyers FC's Theo Brodie got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ollie Goodfellow recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. HighFlyers FC's CJ Coe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save HighFlyers FC from getting a goal against them. Les Boyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ollie Goodfellow, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Loyd Kyle struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Les Boyce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for HighFlyers FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ash Fitzsymon during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, one of Ashbourne FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ashbourne FC. The referee gave HighFlyers FC a penalty, 91 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Loyd Kyle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ashbourne FC's Les Boyce. 3-0. In the 95th minute, Barrie Littlechild got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Ashbourne FC defense, Ollie Goodfellow kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Les Boyce. The Ashbourne FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Les Boyce should have stopped the shot.
