Seating: 1704, VIP seats: 10) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Albert Foley kicked off to start the match. After 13 minutes, Jermaine Chalmers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Latchingdon and the Ashbourne FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ashbourne FC booed when Latchingdon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jermaine Chalmers didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Latchingdon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thom Green to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Ashbourne FC's Ash Fitzsymon tried to score from far away in the 15th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Stevie Bennett's late challenge caught a Latchingdon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stevie Bennett helped the player get up and apologised. Stevie Bennett kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. After 22 minutes Latchingdon's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ash Fitzsymon who took care of the corner kick. The attack was good, but when Stevie Bennett in the 22nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Les Boyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vic Prutton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Stevie Duff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Les Boyce was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Ashbourne FC's Les Boyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stevie Duff in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Latchingdon booed when Ashbourne FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brendon Duxbury didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 minutes of play, Latchingdon's Stevie Duff made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Les Boyce was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 43 minutes, Thom Green mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Latchingdon and the Ashbourne FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Latchingdon getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Thom Green hit a great ball. Les Boyce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thom Green in the 45th minute of the match. Albert Foley received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ivor Dawes came out and tried to block the shot, but Albert Foley slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Stevie Duff made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Albert Foley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ashbourne FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 63 minutes into the game, Stevie Duff recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Les Boyce. Stevie Duff showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Ivor Dawes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albert Foley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vic Prutton struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Les Boyce didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Latchingdon. Vic Prutton's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Les Boyce firmly grabbed it by the left post. Latchingdon's Ivor Dawes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Foley in the 77th minute of play. A collision led to Latchingdon getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Thom Green hit a great ball. Albert Foley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ivor Dawes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Latchingdon's Jake Middlewood got a free kick in the 89th minute. Stevie Bennett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vic Prutton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Les Boyce having to interfere. Ashbourne FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Latchingdon had controlled the match.
