Penalty! 17 minutes into the match, Dave Eglington had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Billy Kenna. Quinton AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dave Eglington was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 20th match minute, Binsted was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kris Duke to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Quinton AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dave Eglington came free, but Billy Kenna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Rio Dixon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Oliver Leeson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mick Ring having to interfere. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Quinton AFC's goalkeeper Billy Kenna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Binsted's goalkeeper Mick Ring had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rio Dixon. Billy Kenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dave Eglington in the 38th minute of play. Billy Kenna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Bartram in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the game, Rio Dixon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Mick Ring was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Quinton AFC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Binsted were winning 1-2.

After a rather tough play, Quinton AFC's Franz Parkin got a free kick in the 58th minute. Carl Bartram struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Billy Kenna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Binsted. Nial Hyde hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Tyler Ottaway hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Quinton AFC's Rod Hargraves got a free kick in the 70th minute. Reuben Brumfitt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dave Eglington in the 73rd minute of play forced Quinton AFC's goalkeeper Billy Kenna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Quinton AFC's Billy Kenna got control of the ball when Carl Bartram tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dave Eglington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 85 played minutes Quinton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Peter Bzeu. After 88 played minutes Binsted got a freekick which was hit by Reuben Brumfitt. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Bartram got free with Billy Kenna in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dave Eglington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Binsted had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
