Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kyle Pell kicked off to start the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kyle Pell in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shane Pope saved Durham City from getting behind. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Durham City's goalkeeper Shane Pope, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 9th match minute, Carlin How was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyle Pell to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Carlin How booed when Durham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reggie Murphy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tris Dunlop's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Shane Pope read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Shane Pope was a little too slow when Kyle Pell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-0. Tris Dunlop took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Shane Pope. Shane Pope dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After having played for 32 minutes, Sean Haper managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Durham City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sean Haper was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 33rd minute, Shawn Bridgewater hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Durham City getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Sean Haper hit a great ball. Shane Pope showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Pell, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Shane Pope showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kyle Pell in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Durham City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tris Dunlop fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Thanks to some nice moves Tris Dunlop could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Shane Pope however easily saved by the left post. Kyle Pell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kristian Hardwick to make the kick off. If Kyle Pell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Kyle Pell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shane Pope saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liam Edison lost his temper 65 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Tris Dunlop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Shane Pope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keiran Constantine kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Kyle Pell struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Shane Pope didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlin How. Kyle Pell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Pope having to interfere. Liam Mallon hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After 82 played minutes, Carlin How's Aaron Fleetwood shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Shane Pope came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Carlin How reached it. After 83 played minutes Durham City got a freekick which was hit by Liam Mallon. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tris Dunlop in the 84th minute of play forced Durham City's goalkeeper Shane Pope to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tris Dunlop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shane Pope having to interfere. Shane Pope made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Pell in the 95th minute of play. Carlin How's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
