Spectators: 6690 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sidney Kear made the kick off which started today's match. Kris Day sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Doug Chalk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tenterden FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Annscroft the free kick. Doug Chalk kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Doug Chalk hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Pearce in the 11th minute of play forced Tenterden FC's goalkeeper Jonny Fairbank to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Kris Day managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tenterden FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kris Day was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Hornsby breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute, Kris Day left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tenterden FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Sidney Kear recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodney Barber charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rodney Barber the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Annscroft booed when Tenterden FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodney Barber didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kris Day came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Tenterden FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kris Day couldn't finish the play. Annscroft's Ivan Hornsby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodney Barber in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Sidney Kear managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Annscroft's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sidney Kear was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The wind increased when Kris Day made the kick off in the second half. Rodney Barber struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Ivan Hornsby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tenterden FC. When Eddie Starr fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Annscroft's protests and gave Eddie Starr a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Annscroft's Eddie Starr got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Luke Medley charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Graham Cordingley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ivan Hornsby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Jeremy Monk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute of the match Craig Fenton sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Hornsby skillfully saved the ball. Martyn Pearce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Jonny Fairbank made a huge save. After 70 played minutes Tenterden FC got a freekick which was hit by Rodney Barber. 76 minutes into the match, Annscroft's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Day came free, but Ivan Hornsby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Graham Cordingley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Hornsby having to interfere. Ivan Hornsby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kris Day, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Tenterden FC fully deserved thier win.
