Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Basil Forrest started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, CJ Preston got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 9 minutes, Simeon Culverhouse managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coventry's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simeon Culverhouse was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Basil Forrest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 21 minutes, Eric Morgan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Twickenham United and the Coventry players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Twickenham United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Morgan to maneuver through the defense. Basil Forrest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clive Sheridan charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clive Sheridan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 40 minutes into the game, one of Twickenham United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eddy Marsden to strike the kick off in the second half. When Simeon Culverhouse came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Coventry fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simeon Culverhouse couldn't finish the play. CJ Preston struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Toby Forster didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Twickenham United. Robbie Colt charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbie Colt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Simeon Culverhouse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 71 minutes of play, Coventry's Buster Butler made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Josh Pollard was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81st minute, Buster Butler made a precise shot to the right of Josh Pollard. Twickenham United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After a rather tough play, Coventry's Eric Cartwright got a free kick in the 85th minute. Toby Forster stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eddy Marsden's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when CJ Preston got free with Toby Forster in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eddy Marsden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Toby Forster tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Coventry fans cheered their team off the field, for while Twickenham United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
