Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Crawley's Stefan Cooke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caleb Woodcock in the 3rd minute of play. 8 minutes into the game, Newcastle-under-Lyme's Ged Bostock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stefan Cooke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a little luck, Crawley's Stefan Cooke got control of the ball when Ged Bostock tried to sneak it across the goal line. 19 minutes into the match, Newcastle-under-Lyme's goal looked a bit too open when Tyler Wray came free, but Denis Grantham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, Tyler Wray cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Denis Grantham was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31st match minute, Crawley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duncan Osmond to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Crawley's Damien Summerfield got a free kick in the 33rd minute. With a little luck, Crawley's Stefan Cooke got control of the ball when Ged Bostock tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th match minute, Crawley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Swallow to maneuver through the defense. After 45 played minutes Crawley got a freekick which was hit by Duncan Osmond. The long shot by Damon Bryant in the 46th minute really tested Stefan Cooke's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Caleb Woodcock did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-1 to the left of a surprised Stefan Cooke 48 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vincent Frost to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Howard Le Saux mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Crawley players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Crawley booed when Newcastle-under-Lyme was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Howard Le Saux didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stefan Cooke stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ged Bostock's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. When Duncan Osmond fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crawley's protests and gave Duncan Osmond a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Duncan Osmond hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dylan Swallow hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Damon Bryant was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Caleb Woodcock came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Newcastle-under-Lyme fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caleb Woodcock couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Crawley getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Duncan Osmond hit a great ball. Vincent Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Denis Grantham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caleb Woodcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Vincent Frost fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Grantham having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Newcastle-under-Lyme players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
