Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Damon Bower kicked off to start the match. After 8 played minutes Handforth got a freekick which was hit by Gordon Portway. In the 9th minute, Damon Bower got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ashburton's goalkeeper Freddy Dexter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Handforth fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Handforth's CJ Champion looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ashburton's Damon Bower got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Handforth's Zane Barber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damon Bower in the 26th minute of play. CJ Champion came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Freddy Dexter could save by the left post. In the 33rd minute, CJ Champion ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Freddy Dexter was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Darius Duffy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Freddy Dexter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, Jools Hunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 45th play minute CJ Champion came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Freddy Dexter. 4-0. CJ Champion's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 48thth minute, Freddy Dexter skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alastair Nailor in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Freddy Dexter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 62nd minute Denzil Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddy Dexter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddy Dexter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alastair Nailor in the 63rd minute of the match. Freddy Dexter didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Handforth's Alastair Nailor shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 5-0 in the ordered_time% minute. The supporters of Handforth booed when Ashburton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Prior didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Ashburton's goal looked a bit too open when Alastair Nailor came free, but Freddy Dexter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 76 minutes, Patrick Styles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashburton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Styles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Dexter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alastair Nailor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Handforth's Gordon Portway got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Ashburton's zone, Darius Duffy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Dexter came out of the goal and Darius Duffy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddy Dexter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alastair Nailor in the 87th minute of play. The supporters of Handforth booed when Ashburton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Prior didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddy Dexter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alastair Nailor in the 94th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Handforth fully deserved thier win.
