The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Keiran Blackley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Manchester City FC's Ty Bennett in the 4th minute got a chance for a shot 4th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Thatcham FC's goalie prevented a goal. Ty Bennett struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Reggie Watson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester City FC. In the 12th minute of the match Cliff Gray shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reggie Watson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 13th minute Ty Bennett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reggie Watson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Manchester City FC got a freekick which was hit by Zackary Towler. A collision led to Manchester City FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Zackary Towler hit a great ball. If Ty Bennett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Thatcham FC's zone, Ty Bennett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reggie Watson came out of the goal and Ty Bennett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Keiran Blackley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Josh Caine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Jonathon Pack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thatcham FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonathon Pack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josh Porter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 33 minutes into the match, Thatcham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Keiran Blackley came free, but Reggie Watson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 40th minute, Des Waddington made a precise shot to the right of Reggie Watson. Thatcham FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Keiran Blackley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 46thth minute of the game Ty Bennett who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Thatcham FC's Reggie Watson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Reggie Watson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ty Bennett in the 48th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ty Bennett to strike the kick off in the second half. Reggie Watson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ty Bennett in the 52nd minute. Des Waddington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Richie Renner fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thatcham FC's protests and gave Richie Renner a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Thatcham FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Richie Renner hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Thatcham FC's Andrew Lofthouse got a free kick in the 56th minute. It was beautiful to see Manchester City FC's Rio Hopkinson in action when he in the 57th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 61 minutes into the game, Manchester City FC's Ty Bennett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reggie Watson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 65 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Manchester City FC's Ty Bennett fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Josh Caine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Keiran Blackley kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Reggie Watson. That made the score 0-3 in the 75 minute of play. Thomas Farrow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reggie Watson having to make a save. The supporters of Thatcham FC booed when Manchester City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Des Waddington didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josh Caine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reggie Watson made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Keiran Blackley sent off a good shot on target. Keiran Blackley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reggie Watson having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Jonathon Pack cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Josh Porter was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
