After 2 minutes, Brendon Donnelly mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rocker City and the Werrington players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, Rocker City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brendon Donnelly to maneuver through the defense. In the 4th minute, Piers Nethercot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leigh Nowland didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Philip Granger went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Rocker City's Leigh Nowland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Granger in the 23rd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Piers Nethercot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lee Alderson during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lee Alderson kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Wayne Renton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brad Cryer was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Piers Nethercot managed to get in a good position for a shot. Werrington's supporters rose to their feet, but Piers Nethercot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leigh Nowland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Piers Nethercot's late challenge caught a Rocker City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Piers Nethercot helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rocker City booed when Werrington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piers Nethercot didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Philip Granger managed to get in a good position for a shot. Werrington's supporters rose to their feet, but Philip Granger was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leigh Nowland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 46 played minutes Rocker City got a freekick which was hit by Chaz Reynolds. If Philip Granger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Philip Granger was the one to do the kick off. Todd Crooks kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Brad Cryer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wayne Renton in the 57th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Rocker City defense, Piers Nethercot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leigh Nowland. The Rocker City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leigh Nowland should have stopped the shot. 62 minutes into the game, Werrington's Piers Nethercot nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leigh Nowland made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Piers Nethercot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leigh Nowland having to interfere. Leigh Nowland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Piers Nethercot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th match minute, Werrington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Kirk to maneuver through the defense. Todd Crooks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Brad Cryer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piers Nethercot in the 85th minute of play forced Rocker City's goalkeeper Leigh Nowland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute of the match Rocker City got a corner. Werrington's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kris Ford ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rocker City's Kris Ford was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Brad Cryer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Werrington had played much better football throughout.
