The supporters of London Met Academy booed when Rugby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. CJ Sewell didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Rugby's zone, Ollie Halford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gary Sanderson came out of the goal and Ollie Halford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mick Warnett was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 79th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Norman Colbert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mick Warnett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Andre Graydon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Leon Lambley got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Steven Hendley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 95 minutes, Mick Warnett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. London Met Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mick Warnett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle sounded London Met Academy left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rugby.
