Spectators: 6728 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) Thomas Crossley started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Shaldon City's Johnathon Corbett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Bartrup in the 6th minute of play. 7 minutes into the game, Halifax's Sidney Bartrup nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Johnathon Corbett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Halifax's Gez Foreman in 26 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Johnathon Corbett guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gez Foreman in the 30th minute of play forced Shaldon City's goalkeeper Johnathon Corbett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Halifax's Freddy Bullard got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Shaldon City's Jasper Clifford broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Gez Foreman came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Halifax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gez Foreman couldn't finish the play. Sidney Bartrup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnathon Corbett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gez Foreman in the 47th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gez Foreman was the one to do the kick off. Gez Foreman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnathon Corbett read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. In the 55th minute Thomas Crossley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Murray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 played minutes Halifax got a freekick which was hit by Kenny Stamer. Johnathon Corbett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gez Foreman, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Halifax's Grant Murray played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stan Webster in the 68th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Halifax's zone, Stan Webster stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Grant Murray came out of the goal and Stan Webster tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grant Murray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Crossley in the 72nd minute of play. Thomas Crossley struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Grant Murray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shaldon City. In the 88th minute Thomas Crossley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grant Murray saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Crossley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Johnathon Corbett came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Halifax's Sidney Bartrup. But to his dismay, Sidney Bartrup quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Halifax's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
