It was a penalty for Flitwick! In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Halstead United. Jake Hamilton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Connor Broom. 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rowan Newland during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rowan Newland hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Jake Hamilton was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 11th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Reggie Watkinson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Connor Broom having to make a save. Ian Kearney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Flitwick's zone, Jake Hamilton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connor Broom came out of the goal and Jake Hamilton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute Ian Kearney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reggie Watkinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ted Appleton's late challenge caught a Halstead United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ted Appleton helped the player get up and apologised. Ted Appleton hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Connor Broom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Kearney in the 35th minute of the match. Ian Kearney took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Connor Broom. Connor Broom dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Connor Broom showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ian Kearney in the 41st minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reggie Watkinson was the one to do the kick off. If Reggie Watkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Flitwick getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Zane Daly hit a great ball. Ian Kearney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connor Broom having to interfere. Reggie Watkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connor Broom having to interfere. The supporters of Flitwick booed when Halstead United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lance Hampshire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zane Daly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 80th minute Reggie Watkinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Connor Broom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, Archie Whitworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Connor Broom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reggie Watkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Reggie Watkinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Reggie Watkinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Kearney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Connor Broom tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Halstead United's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
