Sidney Proctor's late challenge caught a Winged Hussars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidney Proctor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 7th match minute, Southend United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidney Proctor to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Southend United booed when Winged Hussars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaz Silvester didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leroy Pack kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Darius Gray sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Locke came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Winged Hussars's Leroy Pack. But to his dismay, Leroy Pack quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Leroy Pack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daniel Locke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leroy Pack in the 20th minute of play. The supporters of Winged Hussars booed when Southend United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curtis Bowler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Winged Hussars's Leroy Pack got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Locke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darius Gray, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 30th minute, Loyd Maylett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Darius Gray notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Southend United's Daniel Locke. Daniel Locke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leroy Pack's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Locke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Daniel Locke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leroy Pack in the 37th minute of the match. If Leroy Pack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Winged Hussars's Abraham Groves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marlon Townson in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Winged Hussars were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Darius Gray made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Paddy Sutton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Curtis Bowler fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Southend United's protests and gave Curtis Bowler a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 59 minutes, Darius Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Winged Hussars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darius Gray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Paddy Sutton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Marlon Townson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Gaz Silvester hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paddy Sutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Leroy Pack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 84th minute Darius Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Locke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leroy Pack's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Daniel Locke skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Daniel Locke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darius Gray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abraham Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marlon Townson in the 92nd minute of play. Daniel Locke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darius Gray in the 96th minute of the match. The Winged Hussars players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
