Tyler Homes scored 0-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ruben Flower, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gareth Longstaff kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Helsby United booed when Braintree City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vic Evans didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Braintree City's Sonny Attenborough in action when he in the 33rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! 37 minutes into the match, Helsby United's Lewis Hicks sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Connor Little narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lewis Hicks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Connor Little having to make a save. After having played for 48 minutes, Tyler Homes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braintree City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tyler Homes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isaac Barber to strike the kick off in the second half. When Lewis Hicks came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Helsby United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lewis Hicks couldn't finish the play. Lewis Hicks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Connor Little tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Isaac Barber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruben Flower saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Braintree City getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Leo Lyons hit a great ball. After having played for 85 minutes, Tyler Homes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 90 played minutes Isaac Barber rounded Helsby United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. Connor Little didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lewis Hicks went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Braintree City eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
