William Blackhurst didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Thirsk FC's goalkeeper Jerome Lewington had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Byron Calder. After 9 minutes, Stevie Briant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Alex Park FC and the Thirsk FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Alex Park FC got a freekick which was hit by Stevie Briant. Carlton Booker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dale Mannell, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 0-1 became the score in the 17th minute when Victor Hunter elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Thirsk FC's zone, Rodney Forrest stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jerome Lewington came out of the goal and Rodney Forrest tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eddy Pell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Lewington having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Thirsk FC's goalkeeper Jerome Lewington had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eddy Pell. With his leg Jerome Lewington managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Alex Park FC's Eddy Pell fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Alex Park FC were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Thirsk FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eddy Pell took the corner. Victor Hunter hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Rodney Forrest managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alex Park FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodney Forrest was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Hunter was the one to do the kick off. Eddy Pell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rodney Forrest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th match minute, Thirsk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calum Jackson to maneuver through the defense. Jerome Lewington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddy Pell in the 61st minute of the match. Tristram Kenna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerome Lewington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Byron Calder, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Steven Gallacher kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Ian Corby took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carlton Booker. Alex Park FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Carlton Booker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dale Mannell in the 69th minute. The audience was convinced that Eddy Pell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerome Lewington was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. In the 75th match minute, Thirsk FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Winterbine to maneuver through the defense. Thirsk FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alex Park FC the free kick. The supporters of Alex Park FC booed when Thirsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sammy Colton didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience held their breath when Basil Laverack in the 91st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Jerome Lewington's left hand side. Rodney Forrest fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jerome Lewington having to interfere. A collision led to Alex Park FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Shaun Rusby hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Shaun Rusby in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerome Lewington prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alex Park FC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Thirsk FC to leave the ground with a draw.
