Jo Horner charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jo Horner the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th match minute, Looe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jo Horner to maneuver through the defense. Iain Backhouse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moises Elizardo having to interfere. Moises Elizardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Horner, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 25 minutes into the game, Brynn Meehan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Chip Hughes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The penalty shot was made by Spike Etherington, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of South Glos Rovers's Moises Elizardo. 1-1. Moises Elizardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iain Backhouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When Philip Anson fell near the penalty area in the 47th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored South Glos Rovers's protests and gave Philip Anson a yellow card for diving instead. Philip Anson hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iain Backhouse in the 48th minute of play forced South Glos Rovers's goalkeeper Moises Elizardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, South Glos Rovers's Alfred Vennerström got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 61st minute, Jo Horner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Chip Hughes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Glos Rovers. Looe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
