Gordon Allott struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Roy Pearch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Harchester United. In the 16th minute Nathanial Hird shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay Devaney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Drew Hardcastle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Roy Pearch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36thth minute of the game Bart Cross who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harchester United's Jay Devaney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Dean Fordham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Harchester United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Morden the free kick. A collision led to Harchester United getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Dean Fordham hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the game, Morden's Nathanial Hird nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jay Devaney made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Harchester United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Morden were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Drew Hardcastle was the one to do the kick off. If Nathanial Hird had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bart Cross struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Andrew Reddington kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Nathanial Hird sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Morden eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
