The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Fulbourn booed when Tottington AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerome Jackson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ashley Bramhall showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Tony Lilley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ashley Bramhall having to interfere. Ashley Bramhall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Will Sharples in the 16th minute of play. If Tony Lilley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mickey Blake had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when David Fenton from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Mickey Blake made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dave Mimms in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Fulbourn's goal looked a bit too open when David Fenton came free, but Mickey Blake reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ty Thornton took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ashley Bramhall. Tottington AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If David Fenton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Fulbourn defense, Dave Mimms kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mickey Blake. The Fulbourn fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mickey Blake should have stopped the shot. Fulbourn's Mickey Blake proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Fulbourn from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Dave Mimms took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Mickey Blake to make any attempt to save it. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Fenton was the one to do the kick off. Tottington AFC's David Fenton got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mickey Blake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Will Sharples took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Ashley Bramhall to make any attempt to save it. In the 75th match minute, Tottington AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Webster to maneuver through the defense. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
