Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Will Sharples kicked off to start the match. If Tony Lilley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malcolm Gower hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. 11 minutes into the game, Johnathon Maskell was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knottingley FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fulbourn the free kick. After 11 played minutes Knottingley FC got a freekick which was hit by Johnathon Maskell. Mickey Blake stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Johnathon Maskell's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. A nice corner shot did that Stuart Walton got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Mickey Blake quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Knottingley FC's goalkeeper Brynn Jackson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 21 minutes of play, Fulbourn's Tony Lilley made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brynn Jackson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tony Lilley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Malcolm Gower was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Knottingley FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fulbourn the free kick. The supporters of Fulbourn booed when Knottingley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malcolm Gower didn't get a good kick on the ball. Will Sharples blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brynn Jackson having to make a save. Tony Lilley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brynn Jackson having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Johnathon Maskell made the kick off in the second half. Fulbourn's Mickey Blake proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Fulbourn from getting a goal against them. Johnathon Maskell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mickey Blake having to interfere. Tony Lilley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Brynn Jackson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Malcolm Gower was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. After 60 played minutes Knottingley FC got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Gower. Jake Daly hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Tony Lilley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brynn Jackson having to interfere. Tony Lilley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Brynn Jackson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute Will Sharples shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brynn Jackson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71st minute, Simon Nevin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Stuart Rockey came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Knottingley FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stuart Rockey couldn't finish the play. Fulbourn's Mickey Blake proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Fulbourn from getting a goal against them. After 83 minutes, Will Sharples made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Knottingley FC's Brynn Jackson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 88 minutes, Walter Lodge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Knottingley FC and the Fulbourn players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fulbourn booed when Knottingley FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walter Lodge didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fulbourn's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
