Spectators: 6713 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1713, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Doug Clarkson started the match with the kick off. Josh Fitzgerald made in the 3rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Youngblood Youth Academy's Nial Brodie. Garth Fearns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Jon Dixon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Hazledine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doug Clarkson in the 7th minute of play. In the 9th minute, Doug Clarkson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 12th minute Garth Fearns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Dixon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Scott Duke might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aaron Hazledine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Scott Duke ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Scott Duke could shoot a difficult shot in the 25th minute, which Aaron Hazledine however easily saved by the left post. Neil Cole kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Scott Duke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nial Brodie hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Scott Duke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ormskirk's supporters rose to their feet, but Scott Duke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Hazledine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute Garth Fearns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jon Dixon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Neil Cole got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Garth Fearns blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jon Dixon having to make a save. If Garth Fearns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ormskirk's zone, Garth Fearns stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jon Dixon came out of the goal and Garth Fearns tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Garth Fearns came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jon Dixon could save by the left post. Jerome Waite's late challenge caught a Ormskirk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jerome Waite helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Youngblood Youth Academy's Jerome Waite got a free kick in the 61st minute. A collision led to Youngblood Youth Academy getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Nial Brodie hit a great ball. After having played for 67 minutes, Scott Duke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ormskirk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Scott Duke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 76 minutes of play, Youngblood Youth Academy's Garth Fearns made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jon Dixon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathon Harding's late challenge caught a Youngblood Youth Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 89th minute, Doug Clarkson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Garth Fearns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Youngblood Youth Academy's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
