Stew Plummer kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Garth Fearns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Garth Fearns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aaron Hazledine made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Jim East sent off a good shot on target. Garth Fearns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miles Wicks having to interfere. A collision led to Youngblood Youth Academy getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jerome Waite hit a great ball. With a little luck, Youngblood Youth Academy's Aaron Hazledine got control of the ball when Jim East tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th match minute, Youngblood Youth Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nial Brodie to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Nial Brodie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Fearns in the 32nd minute of play forced Oswestry's goalkeeper Miles Wicks to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Garth Fearns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Youngblood Youth Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garth Fearns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aaron Hazledine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damian Flintoff in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Nial Brodie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Garth Fearns to make the kick off. Oswestry's Jim East got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 53rd match minute, Oswestry was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jez Hoskins to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th minute Jim East shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aaron Hazledine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Damian Flintoff's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aaron Hazledine was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. After 79 minutes, Benji Bridge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oswestry and the Youngblood Youth Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Oswestry's Benji Bridge got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 81 played minutes Oswestry got a freekick which was hit by Damian Flintoff. Garth Fearns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miles Wicks having to interfere. Garth Fearns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Miles Wicks tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
