Ronny Atherton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gus Younger in the 5th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the match, Wootton Bassett's Gus Younger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronny Atherton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Villiam Hedlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. If Vernon Proctor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 18 minutes, Isac Askestät managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wootton Bassett's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isac Askestät was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vernon Proctor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. Robin Herring showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Bridgewater in the 24th minute of the match. Isac Askestät fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. If Vernon Proctor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gus Younger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. Isac Askestät recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th match minute, Fence Houses was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caleb Westlake to maneuver through the defense. Fence Houses's Ronny Atherton proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Fence Houses from getting a goal against them. Gus Younger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Fence Houses's zone, Isac Askestät stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ronny Atherton came out of the goal and Isac Askestät tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Spike Gough's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ronny Atherton read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. When Isac Askestät came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Wootton Bassett fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isac Askestät couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gus Younger got free with Ronny Atherton in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gus Younger to make the kick off. Spike Gough fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. 55 minutes into the game, Wootton Bassett's Isac Askestät nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ronny Atherton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 58 minutes into the match, Isac Askestät had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ronny Atherton. Fence Houses's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isac Askestät was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. When Vernon Proctor came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Wootton Bassett fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vernon Proctor couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Wootton Bassett getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Phil Harris hit a great ball. Ronny Atherton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Spike Gough, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Ronny Atherton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ben Kendall went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Ronny Atherton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Spike Gough in the 75th minute of play. Gus Younger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronny Atherton having to interfere. Gus Younger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Wootton Bassett's Isac Askestät sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronny Atherton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Wootton Bassett booed when Fence Houses was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sly Halford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronny Atherton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isac Askestät in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Sly Halford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gus Younger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ronny Atherton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wootton Bassett walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
