Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Footgolfers's Sid Thorn started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grant Slator got free with John-Paul Mumford in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 8 minutes into the match, Footgolfers's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Mitchell-King came free, but John-Paul Mumford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 14 minutes, Grant Slator managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Romney United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant Slator was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Footgolfers's John-Paul Mumford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rick Rundell in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Grant Slator left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The New Romney United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Tim Mitchell-King received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. John-Paul Mumford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John-Paul Mumford didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grant Slator went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. After 35th play minutes Tim Mitchell-King shot 3-0, a short shot which went by John-Paul Mumford and just under the crossbar into goal. New Romney United's Tim Mitchell-King managed to work through Footgolfers's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Tim Mitchell-King dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Grant Slator got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. John-Paul Mumford was out of position in the 43 minute of play, and Tim Mitchell-King capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tim Mitchell-King really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. In the 47th minute, Rick Rundell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

John-Paul Mumford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tim Mitchell-King, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tim Mitchell-King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Thomas Martin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wayne Charie fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Romney United's protests and gave Wayne Charie a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Wayne Charie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thomas Martin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Jeff Cordingley when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 75 minutes, Tim Mitchell-King managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Romney United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tim Mitchell-King was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grant Slator fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John-Paul Mumford having to interfere. New Romney United's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Sid Thorn 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 5-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tim Mitchell-King in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John-Paul Mumford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Grant Slator's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but John-Paul Mumford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. When Lee Craddock fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Footgolfers's protests and gave Lee Craddock a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Footgolfers's Lee Craddock got a free kick in the 88th minute. Grant Slator sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. New Romney United had played much better football throughout.
