The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Haslemere's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Lorencio came free, but Pierce Morgan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Haslemere was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Spike Long to maneuver through the defense. Pierce Morgan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Arias went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of Haslemere:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nottingham Forest FC:s goal. Pierce Morgan had in the 23rdth minute some difficulties stopping Victorino Lorencio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 24 minutes Haslemere's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Victorino Lorencio who took care of the corner kick. Nottingham Forest FC's Leopoldo Arias was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pierce Morgan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Haslemere's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Matty Le Tissier scored to the left of an out of position Pierce Morgan, making the score, 4-0. After having played for 44 minutes, Victorino Lorencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nottingham Forest FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victorino Lorencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victorino Lorencio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Victorino Lorencio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pierce Morgan. Haslemere's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Victorino Lorencio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 66thth minute of the game Nigel Banks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haslemere's Pierce Morgan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victorino Lorencio in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierce Morgan saved Haslemere from getting behind. Pierce Morgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorino Lorencio's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. The audience was convinced that Victorino Lorencio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pierce Morgan was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. In the 78thth minute of the game Nigel Banks who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Haslemere's Pierce Morgan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Victorino Lorencio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pierce Morgan. Pierce Morgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorino Lorencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pierce Morgan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victorino Lorencio went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. In the 90th minute Victorino Lorencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierce Morgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pierce Morgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Victorino Lorencio's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Nottingham Forest FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
