Liam Nelson kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darryl Dunn in the 38th minute of play forced Sutton in Ashfield's goalkeeper Shawn Wilberforce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nath Bell in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shawn Wilberforce saved Sutton in Ashfield from getting behind.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Darryl Dunn made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Tom Sparkes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casey Phippard was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Great Addington FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sutton in Ashfield the free kick. Shawn Wilberforce was a little too slow when Nath Bell got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 5-1.
