Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 0) Stockbridge's Robert Neville started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Stockbridge's Graham Leonard dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waterloo City's goalkeeper Tyrone Long, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Terry Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian East having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Waterloo City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caleb Holdcroft to maneuver through the defense. Tyrone Long came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Stockbridge's Graham Leonard. But to his dismay, Graham Leonard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers George Macken in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julian East saved Stockbridge from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Stockbridge's goal looked a bit too open when John Paul Gaskell came free, but Julian East reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Terry Wilkins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If John Paul Gaskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terry Wilkins might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julian East. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Terry Wilkins ran back to his position shaking his head. John Paul Gaskell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Julian East tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The wind increased when George Macken made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Stockbridge's goal looked a bit too open when John Paul Gaskell came free, but Julian East reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian East showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from John Paul Gaskell, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Tyrone Long made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graham Leonard in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Stockbridge's goal looked a bit too open when John Paul Gaskell came free, but Julian East reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Terry Wilkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julian East read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. In the 62nd minute John Paul Gaskell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian East saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lance Billington hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the game, Caleb Holdcroft recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julian East. Caleb Holdcroft showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-1. Terry Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian East having to interfere. If John Paul Gaskell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyrone Long took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robert Neville, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Terry Wilkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julian East having to interfere. If Robert Neville had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Stockbridge players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
