Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Keith Cardwell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Will Oddy charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Will Oddy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd minute, Will Oddy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Mike Reading managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kensington FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mike Reading was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kev Constantine breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phil Walton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kev Constantine having to interfere. Kev Constantine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phil Walton in the 14th minute. 14 minutes into the game, Robert Speight was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lavenham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kensington FC the free kick. Kev Constantine didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 23rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Kev Constantine made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phil Walton in the 29th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Trev Rigg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kensington FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lavenham the free kick. After 31 played minutes Kensington FC got a freekick which was hit by Trev Rigg. 32 minutes into the match, Kensington FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marlon Gomersall came free, but Albert Hales reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Hales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlon Gomersall in the 34th minute of the match. Keith Cardwell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Lavenham's Kev Constantine got control of the ball when Mike Reading tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lavenham's Kev Constantine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Phil Walton in the 38th minute of play. Phil Walton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albert Hales showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marlon Gomersall in the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marlon Gomersall to strike the kick off in the second half. Kev Constantine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keith Cardwell in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Rory Wood fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Albert Hales, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Lavenham booed when Kensington FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trev Rigg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marlon Gomersall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 90 minutes into the game, Richie Higginson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kensington FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lavenham the free kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kensington FC had won after a very even match.
