Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Stu Wagstaff kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Syd Scholes in the 4th minute of play forced LONG AFC's goalkeeper Callum Bellamy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sean Bird received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Callum Bellamy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. George Owen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Vance Alsop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 12 minutes, Reg Strongman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LONG AFC and the Abbey Wood FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, LONG AFC's Reg Strongman got a free kick in the 12th minute. Abbey Wood FC's Vance Alsop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stu Wagstaff in the 18th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Sidney Newton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vance Alsop showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 26 played minutes Abbey Wood FC got a freekick which was hit by Sean Bird. After a defensive mix-up in Abbey Wood FC's zone, Stu Wagstaff stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vance Alsop came out of the goal and Stu Wagstaff tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If George Owen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Reg Strongman came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the LONG AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reg Strongman couldn't finish the play. Abbey Wood FC's Vance Alsop proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Abbey Wood FC from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Reg Strongman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Abbey Wood FC's goalkeeper Vance Alsop had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by George Owen. In the 38th minute, Stu Wagstaff made a precise shot to the right of Vance Alsop. Abbey Wood FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Vance Alsop was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Vic Blackwater. Russell Fordham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vance Alsop having to make a save.

55 minutes into the match, Russell Fordham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vance Alsop. Abbey Wood FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Russell Fordham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. A collision led to Abbey Wood FC getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ben Dawson hit a great ball. The supporters of LONG AFC booed when Abbey Wood FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leigh Walker didn't get a good kick on the ball. When George Owen came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the LONG AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Owen couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute Stu Wagstaff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vance Alsop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. George Owen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vance Alsop having to interfere. Vance Alsop took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stu Wagstaff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Syd Scholes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. In the 93rd minute, Russell Fordham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. LONG AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
