The referee ignored Bristol Centre's protests and gave Marty Wells a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Bristol Centre fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! Kev Gray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamie Etherington, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 minutes, Zane Merchant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ambleside City and the Bristol Centre players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zane Merchant kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute of the match Bristol Centre got a corner. Ambleside City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Franz Gildea ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Bristol Centre's Franz Gildea to fire away a dangerous shot which Johnnie Straker despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ambleside City's Johnnie Straker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iain Bignot in the 22nd minute of play. Jamie Etherington's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Kev Gray skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kev Gray didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 29th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. A collision led to Bristol Centre getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. John Toovey hit a great ball. Ash Topham charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ash Topham the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bristol Centre booed when Ambleside City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ash Topham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franz Gildea was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 40th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Ashley Golding got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John-Paul Briggs was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute, Bristol Centre's Iain Bignot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. John-Paul Briggs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kev Gray read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Bristol Centre's Iain Bignot dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. 74 minutes into the match, Ambleside City's goalkeeper Johnnie Straker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ashley Golding. After 75 minutes, Stew Bayliff mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bristol Centre and the Ambleside City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Iain Bignot kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Ashley Golding came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Bristol Centre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ashley Golding couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ashley Golding got free with Johnnie Straker in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jamie Etherington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John-Paul Briggs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Kev Gray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bristol Centre's John Toovey got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Despite being the better team, Bristol Centre failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
