In the 25th match minute, Malmesbury AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Scott Harban to maneuver through the defense. The wind increased when Tony Rockett made the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Joey Buckle cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Dean Clare was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 61st minute, Colin Krief made a precise shot to the right of Andre Biernat. Malmesbury AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Dean Clare made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darryl Marsden in the 65th minute. In the 92nd minute Darryl Marsden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dean Clare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malmesbury AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
