Walshaw City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ken Fountain was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Hugh Moody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Searle having to interfere. Philip Searle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugh Moody, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kirk Bailey to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Tommy Hedley managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ricky Wrigley hit a great ball. 70 minutes into the match, Walshaw City's goalkeeper Philip Searle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by John-Paul Oates. When Dagenham FC's Ken Fountain in 71 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Philip Searle guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. James Farmer struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Dagenham FC booed when Walshaw City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kirk Bailey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walshaw City's Kirk Bailey got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Walshaw City's goalkeeper Philip Searle, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Tommy Hedley got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Tommy Hedley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Philip Searle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Bailey in the 94th minute of play forced Dagenham FC's goalkeeper Paul Lester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walshaw City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Tommy Hedley scored to the left of an out of position Philip Searle, making the score, 0-4. Dagenham FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
