Ricky Akins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wes Chandler in the 16th minute of play. Piers Weston blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricky Akins having to make a save. Greg Pinder charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greg Pinder the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Greg Pinder made a precise shot to the right of Ricky Akins. Prescot's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Prescot:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Skegness:s goal. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Skegness. Piers Weston stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ricky Akins. 1-2. If Wes Chandler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Knight made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Prescot's goalkeeper Ricky Akins had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Greg Pinder. If Greg Pinder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kieran Clare was shown his second yellow card after 63 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Skegness booed when Prescot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kieran Clare didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Wes Chandler came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Skegness fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wes Chandler couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Sly Storry managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skegness's supporters rose to their feet, but Sly Storry was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricky Akins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wes Chandler might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricky Akins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wes Chandler ran back to his position shaking his head. Wes Chandler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ricky Akins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greg Pinder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Akins having to interfere. Felix Knight's late challenge caught a Skegness's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Knight helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes Prescot got a freekick which was hit by Felix Knight. 78 minutes into the match, Robert Broadhead notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Skegness's Ruben Norman. Ruben Norman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 81 minutes into the game, Robert Broadhead was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Prescot's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Skegness the free kick. A collision led to Prescot getting a freekick after 81 minutes play.
