In the 10th match minute, Bourne AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaron White to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Knight in the 12th minute of play forced Bourne AFC's goalkeeper Wally Gill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prescot's Ricky Akins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Prescot from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Prescot's Ricky Akins got control of the ball when Jason Findley tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jason Findley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Akins having to interfere. Robert Broadhead fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wally Gill having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Prescot's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Seaman came free, but Ricky Akins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wally Gill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robert Broadhead's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Felix Knight took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wally Gill. Wally Gill dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 35 played minutes Freddie Seaman rounded Prescot's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Wally Gill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Knight in the 41st minute of play. Jason Findley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Prescot's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jason Findley fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Freddie Seaman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kieran Clare kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Freddie Seaman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prescot's Felix Knight got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gerry Coulson hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Ricky Akins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jason Findley's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Jason Findley struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Ricky Akins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bourne AFC. In the 73rd minute, one of Bourne AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bourne AFC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Broadhead got free with Wally Gill in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 79 played minutes Bourne AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ralf Van Der Hoorn. Wally Gill stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Knight's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. With a little luck, Bourne AFC's Wally Gill got control of the ball when Robert Broadhead tried to sneak it across the goal line. Freddie Seaman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricky Akins having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Bourne AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Knight came free, but Wally Gill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Prescot were awarded a corner in the 94th minute after Bourne AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Albert Downham took the corner. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Felix Knight got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-3. 94 minutes into the match. The Prescot players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
