With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matty Sissons in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Billy Murray saved Dunton Green from getting behind. Gerry Knott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Damion Fielden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Godmanchester FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Damion Fielden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Billy Murray breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Dunton Green defense, Damion Fielden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Billy Murray. The Dunton Green fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Billy Murray should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Dunton Green's Billy Murray got control of the ball when Damion Fielden tried to sneak it across the goal line. Billy Murray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matty Sissons in the 22nd minute of play. Matty Sissons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy Murray having to interfere. Denis Bradbury's late challenge caught a Godmanchester FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denis Bradbury helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dunton Green getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Denis Bradbury hit a great ball. When Louis Saunders fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Godmanchester FC defense, Gerry Knott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tyler Hughes. The Godmanchester FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tyler Hughes should have stopped the shot. Matty Sissons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Billy Murray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Matty Sissons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerry Knott was the one to do the kick off. After 56 minutes of play, Godmanchester FC's Matty Sissons made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Billy Murray was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tyler Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerry Knott, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 71st minute Gerry Knott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyler Hughes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Billy Murray stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matty Sissons's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Billy Murray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damion Fielden in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Gerry Knott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Godmanchester FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
