Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Steve Boston got the match started through his kick off. Vinnie Crowther showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Bibby, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Syd Willis struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Gary Mallaby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crowngate. When Dane Saunders fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Crowngate's protests and gave Dane Saunders a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Dane Saunders hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Crowngate's Steve Boston got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jim Bibby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dane Saunders was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 22 minutes had been played. The supporters of Uxbridge booed when Crowngate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dane Saunders didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todd Billington in the 27th minute of play forced Crowngate's goalkeeper Vinnie Crowther to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Todd Billington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinnie Crowther having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jim Bibby in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vinnie Crowther saved Crowngate from getting behind. Vinnie Crowther showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Bibby in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Uxbridge booed when Crowngate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Boston didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Vernon Smith had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Jim Bibby's late challenge caught a Crowngate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Bibby helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Uxbridge got a freekick which was hit by Jim Bibby. Uxbridge's Gary Mallaby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steve Boston in the 36th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Buster Bowen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crowngate fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The supporters of Crowngate booed when Uxbridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh Bignot didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Buster Bowen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crowngate's supporters crossed their fingers, but Buster Bowen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stuart Mudd hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Steve Boston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Gary Mallaby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jim Bibby made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Crowngate's Steve Boston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gary Mallaby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 55th minute Steve Boston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gary Mallaby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steve Boston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gary Mallaby came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Crowngate's Steve Boston. But to his dismay, Steve Boston quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Jim Bibby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Vinnie Crowther tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steve Boston scored 3-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gary Mallaby, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 72nd minute Jim Bibby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vinnie Crowther saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the game, Steve Boston was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Crowngate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uxbridge the free kick. Crowngate's Buster Bowen got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Steve Boston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jasper Bonham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steve Boston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Gary Mallaby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gary Mallaby didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Patrick Bowland went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Steve Boston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gary Mallaby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Buster Bowen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Gary Mallaby tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Steve Boston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gary Mallaby read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Crowngate had played much better football throughout.
