In the 7th match minute, Thornbury AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stu Avery to maneuver through the defense. Dale Williams didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 11th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. With a little luck, Thornbury AFC's Dale Williams got control of the ball when Louie Hardy tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Damien Paley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dale Williams was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Damien Paley in the 35thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dale Williams, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Dale Williams had great luck who in the 40thth minute grab hold of the ball when Damien Paley from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 43rd minute Damien Paley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dale Williams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dale Williams took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Paley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tytus Dlugi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tom Hogg's late challenge caught a Thornbury AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tom Hogg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 48th match minute, Derry Hill City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Hogg to maneuver through the defense. Byron Grainger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ed Elliot made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tristram Denham got free with Andy Pryor in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Louie Hardy kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Andy Pryor was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Byron Grainger. Andy Pryor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ed Elliot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Damien Paley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Derry Hill City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Paley in the 68th minute of play forced Thornbury AFC's goalkeeper Dale Williams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes, Vincent Foggarty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Thornbury AFC and the Derry Hill City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Dale Williams showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louie Hardy in the 76th minute of the match. Thornbury AFC's Dale Williams played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Paley in the 80th minute of play. Ollie Hartley kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Derry Hill City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
