Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) A collision led to Beaconsfield getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Conan Brown hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the game, Sean Jones was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Congleton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beaconsfield the free kick. The referee gave Beaconsfield a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nathan Pitman, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Congleton's Rueben Blake. 0-1. Jeff Perkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richard Downes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Congleton's Francis Bailey got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 20 played minutes Beaconsfield got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Pitman. Tyler Campbell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeff Perkins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Richard Downes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Jeff Perkins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Richard Downes. Jeff Perkins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After some careless play in the Congleton defense, Al Corbridge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rueben Blake. The Congleton fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rueben Blake should have stopped the shot. Rueben Blake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Al Corbridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeff Perkins was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeff Perkins in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Richard Downes saved Beaconsfield from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Beaconsfield's Tyler Campbell slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rueben Blake. That made the score 1-3 after 61 minutes of play. 69 minutes into the match, Beaconsfield's Tyler Campbell sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rueben Blake narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Adrian Davis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Congleton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beaconsfield the free kick. Adrian Davis kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tyler Campbell in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rueben Blake prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Congleton's zone, Al Corbridge stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rueben Blake came out of the goal and Al Corbridge tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Davis hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Jeff Perkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Downes having to interfere. Philip Wise hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Al Corbridge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Rueben Blake tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francis Bailey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Richard Downes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Beaconsfield supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Beaconsfield would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
