Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Barnham's Sean Millman started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Bideford's zone, Sean Millman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perry Summers came out of the goal and Sean Millman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sean Millman got free with Perry Summers in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes into the game, Sid Bedford lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Perry Summers. After 18 played minutes Barnham got a freekick which was hit by Bruce Letheren. Marty Newbury came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bideford's Jeff Bostock. But to his dismay, Jeff Bostock quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geoff Bedford during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Perry Summers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sean Millman in the 26th minute. Perry Summers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Bedford in the 27th minute of the match. With his leg Perry Summers managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Barnham's Reuben Cornish fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Perry Summers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sid Bedford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the game, Bideford's Sebastian Watson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marty Newbury made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Bideford's Perry Summers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sid Bedford in the 40th minute of play. Jeff Bostock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Marty Newbury tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Watson struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Marty Newbury didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bideford. Bideford's Perry Summers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sid Bedford in the 46th minute of play. Barnham were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Bideford's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Reuben Cornish took the corner. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The wind increased when Sebastian Watson made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Jeff Bostock cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Marty Newbury was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 57 minutes into the match, Barnham's Sean Millman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Perry Summers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Bideford's Rufus Bowler got a free kick in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sid Bedford in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Perry Summers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Perry Summers came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Barnham's Sean Millman. But to his dismay, Sean Millman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. Marty Newbury showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Watson in the 69th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Bideford's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Bedford came free, but Perry Summers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd match minute, Barnham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vince Vaughan to maneuver through the defense. Marty Newbury was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Rufus Bowler. In the 77th minute Sebastian Watson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marty Newbury saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perry Summers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Millman, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sid Bedford in the 79th minute of play forced Bideford's goalkeeper Perry Summers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 83 minutes, Sid Bedford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barnham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sid Bedford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wally Blake kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Sean Millman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Perry Summers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sid Bedford, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A hard shot by Shaun Braithwaite from long distance, 97 minutes into the match, got Marty Newbury's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bideford eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
