Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Camron Elliott kicked off to start the match. When Camron Elliott fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maldon City's protests and gave Camron Elliott a yellow card for diving instead. Camron Elliott hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Rory Hicks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevin Fearns having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gus Wing in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Craven saved Maldon City from getting behind. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hillhead City's goalkeeper Kevin Fearns, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute of the game Simeon Langford made a throw-in which Stefan Eldridge played forward. After having played for 24 minutes, Stefan Eldridge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hillhead City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stefan Eldridge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ben Craven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gus Wing in the 28th minute of play. Maldon City's Ben Craven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gus Wing in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Rory Hicks left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Maldon City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Gus Wing scored 1-3 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ben Craven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gus Wing recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rory Hicks got free with Kevin Fearns in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gus Wing was the one to do the kick off. Edward Blain kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. John Leslie got a throw-in 69 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Stefan Eldridge. 71 minutes into the game, Rory Hicks was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maldon City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hillhead City the free kick. Rory Hicks kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stefan Eldridge got free with Ben Craven in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 77th minute of the match Camron Elliott completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Camron Elliott a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 78th minute, Camron Elliott hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gus Wing in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ben Craven saved Maldon City from getting behind. If Dom Oddy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
