An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Barnfield in the 2nd minute of play forced Spalding FC's goalkeeper Carlos Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 5 minutes into the game, when Vincent Emmerson put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Spalding FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Vincent Emmerson hit a great ball. Carlos Andrade made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cliff Beale in the 8th minute. Stuart Seal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joe Budge went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Calvin Barnfield hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Dylan Holloway could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Carlos Andrade however easily saved by the left post. Stuart Seal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Budge in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind South Benfleet United's goalkeeper Stuart Seal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Matty Walsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Spalding FC's Carlos Andrade got control of the ball when Cliff Beale tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 31 played minutes Calvin Barnfield rounded Spalding FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Matty Walsh kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Shawn Longstaffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stuart Seal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Joe Budge managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spalding FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joe Budge was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Spalding FC's goalkeeper Carlos Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cliff Beale. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aaron Wardle to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Cliff Beale notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Spalding FC's Carlos Andrade. Carlos Andrade was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 54 played minutes Spalding FC got a freekick which was hit by Garry Mudd. Carlos Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calvin Barnfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute Dylan Holloway shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dylan Holloway in the 59th minute of the match. Lance Slater recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Spalding FC's Matty Walsh got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Garry Mudd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Joe Budge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Cliff Beale made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Andrade. Spalding FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Spalding FC's Carlos Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aaron Wardle in the 74th minute of play. Carlos Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Wardle in the 77th minute of the match. 78 minutes into the game, Shawn Longstaffe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spalding FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave South Benfleet United the free kick. Shawn Longstaffe kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 82 played minutes South Benfleet United got a freekick which was hit by Sammy Peakman. Stuart Seal made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Joe Budge sent off a good shot on target. If Shawn Longstaffe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lance Slater charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lance Slater the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lance Slater hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The South Benfleet United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Spalding FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
