Northallerton Town FC's Bruce Currie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivor Marston in the 33rd minute of play. Ivor Marston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mike Watts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jason Gibbons was the one to do the kick off. The Ludlow fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 68th minute, Mike Watts reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bruce Currie. The goal made the score 2-3. Lance Partridge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jason Gibbons in the 72nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mike Watts in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruce Currie saved Northallerton Town FC from getting behind. A collision led to Northallerton Town FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Shaun Helks hit a great ball. Northallerton Town FC's Bruce Currie proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Northallerton Town FC from getting a goal against them.
