But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Nicholson couldn't finish the play. Gordon Ball fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nath Hurren having to interfere. After 9 played minutes Andrew Howarth rounded Attleborough's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. In the 17th minute of the match, Gordon Ball got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nath Hurren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Attleborough's Wally Senior got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Canary Wharf Hotspur booed when Attleborough was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Biernat didn't get a good kick on the ball. Canary Wharf Hotspur's Alexander Scrivener got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Canary Wharf Hotspur getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Andrew Howarth hit a great ball. When Andrew Howarth came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Canary Wharf Hotspur fans jumped to their feet. Nath Hurren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Howarth in the 30th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Gordon Ball got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Andrew Howarth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canary Wharf Hotspur's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrew Howarth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nath Hurren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A hard shot 37 in the game by Gordon Ball from a close distance when the talented Nath Hurren managed to make a qualified save. Attleborough's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Attleborough's zone, Gordon Ball stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nath Hurren came out of the goal and Gordon Ball tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Stew Emberson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew Howarth blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nath Hurren having to make a save.

The wind increased when Wally Senior made the kick off in the second half. Nath Hurren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Howarth in the 55th minute of the match. A collision led to Attleborough getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Teddy Edgson hit a great ball. Andrew Howarth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gordon Ball came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Canary Wharf Hotspur fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gordon Ball couldn't finish the play. Tosh Nethercoat's late challenge caught a Canary Wharf Hotspur's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tosh Nethercoat helped the player get up and apologised. Tosh Nethercoat kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Gordon Ball made a precise shot to the right of Nath Hurren. Attleborough's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After some careless play in the Attleborough defense, Andrew Howarth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nath Hurren. The Attleborough fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nath Hurren should have stopped the shot. If Gordon Ball had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the match, Canary Wharf Hotspur's Alexander Scrivener broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Gordon Ball received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Nath Hurren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Canary Wharf Hotspur walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
