Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kenny Waltham took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 minutes of play, Soho's Niall Hicks made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stan Jordan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Niall Hicks received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. With a little luck, Ilford United's Stan Jordan got control of the ball when Seth Watson tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 13 played minutes Kenny Waltham rounded Ilford United's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. After a rather tough play, Ilford United's Glyn Monkhouse got a free kick in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenny Waltham in the 19th minute of play forced Ilford United's goalkeeper Stan Jordan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stan Jordan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Howard Groom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Soho booed when Ilford United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Linford didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Ilford United's goalkeeper Stan Jordan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niall Hicks. Stan Jordan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenny Waltham, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute, Kenny Waltham fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 46 played minutes Soho got a freekick which was hit by Howard Groom. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Freddie Dixon in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Keiran Bonds saved Soho from getting behind.

There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Soho fully deserved thier win.
